Starcraft II Tournament Fund Raiser

ACM is having a LAN party event that is dedicated to playing a Starcraft II Double Elimination Tournament. This event takes place Saturday, September 18th at Butler Hall (see directions here). People are welcome to come socialize and spectate the matches being played in the tournament. We may also try to stream the Starcraft II tournament matches here on our website as well. ACM will be having a competitive tournament (entry fee $10) in the Butler Computer Lab dedicated to just Starcraft II. Also, a couple of TVs will be set up in the student lounge, one with an Xbox and the other with a Wii.  If people get bored of spectating they could also plug the consoles up to the projectors. Console players are welcome to bring their own consoles, games, and controllers to setup as well. The football game versus LSU will be shown on the projector in Butler 100 over the ESPN3 video stream (Go Bulldogs!) so no one has an excuse not to come! ACM is looking to make this a big event so we would appreciate it if you helped spread the word about it. The Starcraft II Tournament is a fundraiser for ACM in which the winners will receive a portion of the entry fees. First place gets 30%, second place 20%, third place 10%. Thanks to our sponsors Navagis (a corporation founded by MSU alumni) ACM will also be giving away some 8 gig USB drives to some of the other people that place high in the tournament. ACM would graciously accept donations as well at the registration desk, but in no way shape or form are we obligating anyone to do so. Participants in the tournament are required to bring there own desktop and legitimate copy of Starcraft II to play. ACM will help provide equipment to help move your equipment into the Butler Computer Lab Safely. There will be people out in the parking lot to assist you in directing where you can load and unload your equipment.

Please note that no food or drink are allowed in the lab or classrooms at any time. If you bring food or drinks, please restrict their usage to our student lounge and the lobby.

ACM will have a table setup in the lobby of Butler Hall to collect entry fees for the tournament (for the week of Sept 12th-18th). The first 64 people to register for the tournament will be the first that get to play so come register quickly. The times the table is going to be open is subject to change, however here is a rough schedule:

Monday/Wednesday – 9:00 pm – 1:15 pm

Tuesday/Thursday – 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Friday – 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (with breaks for lunch, etc)

You may also pay your entry fee on the day of the tournament at our registration desk, but there is no guaranteeing there will be a spot for you on this day unless you pay in advance.
